About Selbyville, DE - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Selbyville is a small town in Sussex County, Delaware. It is positioned against the Maryland state border 16 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean. According to the United States Census Bureau, Selbyville had a population of approximately 2,421 people in 2016.

Selbyville is located in a region of Delaware that was inhabited by Native American Indians before the arrivals of European peoples. Selbyville was originally known as Sandy Branch. A grist mill was opened in the late 1700s and a country store was in operation by 1842. Sampson Selby, the owner of the country store, began marking packages for delivery to and from the location Selby-Ville. It is assumed this is how Selbyville got its name. In 1902, the community became incorporated.

Residents of Selbyville enjoy the small town atmosphere and lifestyle found in the town. However, the town is home to many community facilities and amenities despite its small size. Selbyville is home to many restaurants including Georgia House, Taqueria La Sierra, and Cactus Café. Also located in the town are a United States Postal Service office, the Selbyville Public Library, and Southern Delaware School of the Arts. In Selbyville, there is something for everyone.

It is necessary for Selbyville residents to have cooling and heating systems installed in their homes. The town is located in a region of the United States that is susceptible to warm, humid summers and very cool winters. During the months of June, July, and August, daytime temperatures can climb to the mid-90s. Precipitation is common during these months as well. When properly installed, cooling systems like central air conditioning units help residents stay cool and comfortable indoors.

In addition to cooling systems, Selbyville residents should have heating units installed in their homes. During the winter seasons, temperatures will dip below zero and snowfall is possible. Systems that are properly installed protect residents and their homes from potential damages caused by harsh winter weather conditions.
